Where to Get Your Christmas Shopping Done

If you haven’t planned ahead, you are likely spending these next few weekends at the mall trying to find those perfect gifts for your coworkers, boss, friends, family, and that neighbor who may get you a gift, but you aren’t sure so you get something just in case. There are so many people to buy for and so little time! As it gets closer to Christmas, you don’t want to get trapped in the chaos that happens at the mall. Everyone else will be there too, pushing, shoving, cutting you off and stealing your space in the parking lot. It’s just too much!

You should be focusing on spending time with family and friends, not having to worry about what to buy. I want to give you a list of some of the best places to get all your Christmas shopping done this weekend. That way you can cross everyone off your list, and spend the next few weeks relaxing until the in-laws show up.

Coconut Point
This open-air mall is unlike many others in the area. It’s a mix between the open, commercial/residential style of Mercato and the plethora of stores at Coastland Center Mall. The open air feel makes Coconut Point feel less crowded than it actually is. There are tons of stores including Aeropostale, Apple, Banana Republic, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Chico’s, Clarks, Dillards, Fit2Run, Lids, Lilly Pulitzer, Lucky Brand, Petsmart, Michaels, Ross, and more. There are also plenty of restaurants to help refuel during a long day of shopping. There’s Panera, Southfork Grille, Five Guys, Stir Crazy, Ted’s Montana Grill, Tony Sacco’s, and more.

Tin City
Olde Naples
This is a mainstay of Olde Naples that all residents know about. Tin City is a quaint collection of boutiques located right on the waterfront. There are no chain stores here, aside from Pincher’s Crab Shack. You will find unique gifts for friends and family at stores like Caribongo, Peace Frogs, Docks by Jen, The Naples Winery, Dana Tyler, Tin City Magic, and more. You can also sit down to eat at Pinchers or Riverwalk to take a break from all the shopping, or grab a quick bite or some ice cream at M&M’s Cafe.

Coastland Center Mall
This is the main, enclosed shopping mall in Naples. It boasts stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, Bath & Body Works, Charlotte Russe, Claire’s, Cotton On, Express, GameStop, H&M, JCPenney, Justice, Macy’s, Men’s Palace, and more. There is also the food court with staples like Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Charley’s Grilled Subs. There are also sit-down restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory (nearby) and Aurelio’s Pizza. As it approaches Christmas, you will find this generally sleepy mall getting extremely crowded (I should know, I went a few days before Christmas and it’s nearly impossible to find parking). Plan ahead and avoid the crowds!

mercato naples fl

Mercato (Lutgert.com)

Mercato was a revolution when it opened in North Naples. It mixes commercial, retail, and residential spaces into a high-end living and shopping experience. Those with the money purchased luxury condo units that sit atop retail space. Mercato is also one of the main nightlife spots in Naples, especially in season. During these busy months, it can be a pain to find parking, even in the multi-level parking garage. During dinner time, you may end up not finding parking at all. If you do plan to shop here, there are a few retail outlets to browse like Charming Charlie, Foot Gear, Nordstrom Rack, ULTA Beauty, Paper Source, and Sperry Top-Sider. The main draw here is food and drink scene. There are tons of places to eat like Cavo Lounge, Burn by Rocky Patel, Bravo! Cucuina Italiana, The Capital Grille, The Counter Burger, Stage 62 Deli, and AZN Azian Cuizine. Come here to shop, and stay for the happy hour specials.
