Join the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami, Florida Gulf Coast University, and FGCU’s Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies for a special film screening of “Persona Non Grata” on Thursday, March 30 at FGCU’s Cohen Center in room 214. The screening is free and open to the public.
“Persona Non Grata” tells the story of Chiune Sugihara, commonly referred to as “Japan’s Schindler.” Sugihara served as a Japanese Consul in Lithuania during World War II and saved the lives of thousands of Jews by issuing them transit visas, helping them flee from danger.
“Persona Non Grata” is 139 minutes in length. The film is in Japanese with English subtitles. Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

David A. R. White, the producer and actor in God’s Not Dead and nearly 20 other faith-based films, will be the guest speaker at the 21st Annual Benefit Dinner for Lifeline Family Center Thursday, March 30.
God’s Not Dead is the most successful independent faith-based film of all time, making White’s studio, Pure Flix, the most successful Christian film production company in the industry.
About 500 community leaders are expected to attend the annual benefit dinner at McGregor Baptist Church on Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

Lifeline Family Center provides a home in Cape Coral for homeless young women in crisis pregnancies to help them become self-supporting through education, job training, parenting classes, professional counseling and spiritual guidance. It is the only residential program in Lee County for homeless young women in crisis pregnancies who are not part of the foster care program.

Each spring, the Women’s Foundation of Collier County honors local women leaders who, through their leadership styles, are an inspiration to all women seeking to make a difference through philanthropy and civic engagement. The 2017 Women of Initiative will be recognized for their achievements during the annual Women of Initiative Luncheon. Net proceeds from this event to help meet the needs of at-risk women and girls in our community through grants from the Women’s Foundation of Collier County.

In its 9th year, the world-class celebrity tennis experience Madisen’s Match will take place on March 31 and April 1 at The Landings Yacht, Golf and Tennis Club.
