Do you remember the art project involving those colorful alligators that sit outside popular restaurants, parks, and stores? Well it’s back! This time they’re using turtles, and it’s called Turtles on the Town. Fifty turtles have been created by local artists. The project benefits the Community Foundation of Collier County, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, and the United Arts Council of Collier County.

These four foot tall turtles have to been seen in person! Trust me. They are made of fiberglass reinforced polyester. The wide range of themes and styles go from Ninja Turtles to the Everglades. Check out their website to see exactly where each turtle will be displayed, as well as information on the artist. Locations include Mercato, Naples Botanical Garden, Collier County Library, Artis-Naples. The turtles will be on display now until February. On March 9 they will be auctioned off. You can request an invitation to the auction and gala here.
