Mediterra Naples Renovations
Mediterra went through extensive renovations to enhance their luxury club house to the tune of $8.9 million. In the spirit of continued improvement, they have announced a $14 million plan to enhance the golf course. Their north course will will receive a complete renovation beginning with the installation of a new irrigation system. The plans were originally set to start in 2016, but the Mediterra Board fast tracked the plans due to a growing membership.
Other improvements will include “premium platinum paspalum grass, an environmentally friendly emerald-green turf known for improved playability and durability” (Club and Resort Business). Bunkers will be rebuilt, new pump houses will be added. The South Course project will finish in the winter of 2016 and the North Course by the fall of the same year.
There are also tentative plans to expand the Sports Club and Wellness Center. This would include more meeting spaces and more rooms to accommodate greater use of the facility.
Recent renovations include lighted bocce courts, Tavern on 18, an expanded clubhouse kitchen, alfresco dining, and a remodeled Grille Room dining area and clubhouse lounge. The popular Tavern now has a gourmet brick oven for pizzas, and expanded outdoor seating.
