I just recently posted about some local, food-based small businesses¬†, and I came across another food related article in the Naples Daily News. This one talks about Naples ranking #9 on USA Today’s list of Best Small Town Food Scenes in the US. The list was based on votes from readers and also includes:

Frankenmuth, Michigan (#1)
Driftwood, Texas
Portsmouth, N.H.
Yountville, Calif.
St. Helena, Calif.
Traverse City, Mich.
Tarpon Springs, Fla.
Hendersonville, N.C.
Naples, Fla.
Fredericksburg, Texas (#10)

The list was culled from an original list of 20 picked by experts from USA Today.

This is great news for our small town! I love seeing Naples rank so highly on lists like these.

Here’s what 10Best had to say about Naples:

“Gourmet chefs abound in Naples, where the culinary scene is dominated by seafood and Italian. Sicily-born Chef Vincenzo Betulia’s creations at Osteria Tulia are as good as they come, while small plates are the name of the game at Sea Salt, a restaurant by Venice-born Fabrizio Aielli and partner Chef Jason Goddard. Besides Italian, you will find everything from French to Persian cuisine in the Naples area.”
